About

Valley Stonescapes and Masonry, Inc. is a team of Asheville stone masons specializing in designing and installing stonework for residential and commercial applications. Each stone masonry design contains sustainable techniques to control erosion and other natural disasters, increasing durability in the product we produce. We combine creativity, craftsmanship, experience, and knowledge to produce a well-crafted stone landscape for each client. A few of our areas of expertise include stone walls, stone patios, stone veneer, stone landscapes, and more.

Valley Stonescapes and Masonry was originally established in 2007 by the owner and head mason Taylor Bryan. Taylor Bryan was born and raised in Carrboro, NC. He grew up visiting the mountains for camping and mountain biking trips. In 1998, Taylor moved to Swannanoa to attend Warrren Wilson College. Taylor graduated WWC in 2003. In 2007, Taylor created Valley Stonescapes and Landscapes, which was named after his love of the Swannanoa Valley. Seven years later, Taylor would change the name to Valley Stonescapes and Masonry.

Since 2007, we have gained an impressive reputation for outstanding service, innovation, professionalism and competitive pricing. Our company is fully insured and carries workmen’s compensation.

Stone Walls

Valley Stonescapes and Masonry can create a wall using any type of stone. Each of our stone walls are constructed with experience and craftsmanship. Our technique blends dry-stack stone walls with masonry. Each wall is constructed with stone and mortar. We feel that the mortar gives the wall extra strength and durability against future environmental disasters. We also backfill each stone wall with multiple tons of ¾ inch gravel and drainage systems if needed. Drainage is the second most important factor behind building a strong stone wall. The final product is visually a work of art and extremely durable for the future of the clients yard and or residence.

Stone Patios and Pathways

Valley Stonescapes and Masonry defines Stonescapes as stone landscapes. Stone Landscapes can be described as flagstone patios, boulder staircases, stone fireplaces, stepping stone pathways, raised stone garden beds, boulder placement, and more. We can combine any of these examples to create a stone landscape that best suits your yard and your dream.

Stone Veneers

Valley Stonescapes and Masonry can install both natural and manufactured stone veneer. Both have their own look and fit. There are thousands of different styles for manufactured stone veneer and hundreds of different styles for natural stone veneer. It all depends on what the client wants.

Taylor listened to what I wanted done, took pictures of other stone work that I had and communicated well what he could do. A pleasure to work with. And the finished product was exactly what I had in mind.
